Groove metal outfit DevilDriver have released the official music video for their new single “Dead In The Water,” the second preview from their upcoming album ‘Strike And Kill’.
The track continues the rollout for the band’s next full-length, which is scheduled for release on July 10 via Napalm Records.
Frontman Dez Fafara (also of Coal Chamber) described the song as coming from a more positive headspace, written during a difficult period and centered on resilience and perseverance.
“This is one of the most positive songs I’ve ever written lyrically, coming from a very dark time straight into blinding light. I needed to empower others to do the same as I did, and tell them to ‘stay the course,’ life turns around if given the chance to flourish.”
He also noted the track leans into a classic DevilDriver sound, with the full band pushing a strong performance throughout.
“The vibe musically on this is very old school DevilDriver and the entire band is cracking hard here, if you’re a long time listener you’re gonna love this one! Enjoy!”
“Dead In The Water” serves as another key step toward ‘Strike And Kill’, which marks the band’s next major studio release.
