Enter Shikari have surprised fans with the release of “Higher Ground,” a previously unheard track recorded during the sessions for their latest album ‘Lose Your Self’.
The newly released song was ultimately left off the album after the band decided it had developed into something distinct from the rest of the record. According to vocalist Rou Reynolds, the track was gradually completed over the spring and summer of 2026 before finally being released.
“‘Higher Ground’ is about just how pivotal taking the broad perspective is. Whether in our personal lives or when looking at the biggest problems that humanity faces, we often gain clarity and see connections that were previously hidden when we find time to zoom out.”
Reynolds added that the song reflects a recurring theme in Enter Shikari’s music: stepping back from immediate problems to gain perspective and a clearer understanding of the bigger picture.
The surprise release arrives shortly after Enter Shikari announced plans to enter an indefinite hiatus following the completion of their 2027 touring commitments.
