Evanescence Teams Up With Gunship for Synth-Heavy “Afterlife” Remix

Evanescence is keeping the momentum high following their standout performance at The Game Awards 2025. The band has officially released a new remix of their track “Afterlife,” collaborating with British synthwave titans Gunship to overhaul the original composition.

From Netflix to The Game Awards

Originally released as a contribution to the soundtrack of Netflix’s animated adaptation of Devil May Cry, “Afterlife” has quickly become a centerpiece of the band’s current era. The track bridges the gap between their gothic rock roots and the stylized, electronic world of the Capcom franchise.

The “Afterlife” Quick Stats:

• Collaboration: Remix features Gunship; original co-written with Alex Seaver (Mako).
• Series: Featured in the Devil May Cry Netflix Series.
• Live Debut: The hybrid version premiered at The Game Awards 2025 in Los Angeles.

Official Statement from Amy Lee

Frontwoman Amy Lee shared her excitement about finally joining forces with the synthwave duo for this reimagining:

“We’ve been looking for an excuse to work with Gunship for too long and couldn’t be more excited about this dark new version of ‘Afterlife.’ Being a part of the Devil May Cry series has been an honor and too much fun.”
