A new chapter has begun for Evil Island, the latest project featuring members of influential post-hardcore outfit The Blood Brothers. The collective has officially launched their debut single, “Tiger Baby”, marking the first release from their upcoming full-length record.
The lineup brings together key Blood Brothers members Johnny Whitney, Cody Votolato, and Mark Gajadhar, alongside bassist Autry Fulbright (OFF!, ex-…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead). The group’s formation continues a long-standing creative thread between the musicians, now expanded into a new, heavier direction.
Guiding the project is legendary producer Ross Robinson (known for his work with Korn and Slipknot), who not only produced the debut single but also signed Evil Island to his label venture Blowed Out Records, run alongside Ghostemane and Bill Armstrong.
Speaking on the choice of debut track, Johnny Whitney described “Tiger Baby” as a concentrated snapshot of the band’s sound:
“We chose ‘Tiger Baby‘ for the first single from our new record because it’s kind of like the everything bagel of songs from the session. It’s heavy and crazy and chaotic but also very catchy and hooky which is very much what the entire record sounds like all baked into one song.”
Robinson also shared his enthusiasm for the project, framing the upcoming album as a long-awaited collaboration:
“This is a record I’ve wanted to make for way too long, ever since signing and producing The Blood Brothers‘ ‘Burn Piano Island, Burn‘ .. I feel Evil Island is the coolest fucking band on earth and dare anyone to step up to the unleashing fire these guys throw down- they’re the king of kings .. I can’t believe we got to make this thing, it’s an artistic/emotionally violent dream come true for me!”
With “Tiger Baby” now out in the wild, Evil Island officially step into the spotlight, setting the tone for what promises to be a volatile and unpredictable debut album.
