Canadian hard rock veterans Finger Eleven have reached another major career milestone, as their signature hit “Paralyzer” has officially been certified 6x Platinum in the United States.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the band’s breakout single from their 2007 gold-certified album Them vs. You vs. Me recently received the updated certification, recognizing the song’s continued popularity nearly two decades after its release.
Originally sent to radio in March 2007, “Paralyzer” quickly became Finger Eleven’s biggest commercial success. The track earned Gold certification in the U.S. by December 2007 before reaching Platinum status in February 2008. It was later certified 2x Platinum in June 2008.
Following that achievement, the song went more than 17 years without another RIAA certification update. That changed on June 25, when the organization officially elevated “Paralyzer” to 6x Platinum, reflecting its sustained success through digital sales and streaming.
The accomplishment comes as Finger Eleven continue supporting their latest studio album, Last Night On Earth, which arrived last November and marked the band’s first full-length release in more than a decade. The group has remained active on the road in support of the record.
In the United States, Gold certification represents 500,000 units, while Platinum signifies 1 million units. Modern RIAA certifications also account for streaming activity, with digital downloads and on-demand audio and video streams contributing toward a release’s total certified units.
