GHOST Dedicate Sold-Out Madison Square Garden Show to Ozzy Osbourne: “For Being the Prince Of Darkness, He Sure Gave Us a Lot of Light”

Multi-platinum Swedish occult rockers Ghost dedicated their sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden on July 22nd to the memory of the late Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away earlier that day at the age of 76 following a long battle with illness.

Ghost frontman Tobias Forge (aka Papa V Perpetua) had recently honored Ozzy in another major way—by performing “Bark At The Moon” during Black Sabbath’s final show, ‘Back To The Beginning’, held on July 5th in Birmingham, UK.

Speaking to the crowd in New York City, Forge paid tribute to the metal legend with the following words (as transcribed by theprp.com):

“Good evening New York City. How are you? It’s one of them days now. We’re gonna dedicate tonight’s show to the memory of the life and laughter of Ozzy Osbourne. For being the Prince Of Darkness, he sure gave us a lot of light. So we’re gonna tap into that tonight and carry it forward through a time of darkness…”

The band’s massive ‘Skeletour’ continues this week, with an appearance also scheduled for ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Wednesday, July 23rd.
