Gradience are bringing their blackened rap metal assault across the Atlantic, unveiling a new music video for “Vermin” while announcing their first-ever UK tour with fellow heavy outfit Survivalist.
The track serves as the opening song on the duo’s Metal Blade Records debut album, ‘Anomaly’, which arrived earlier this year. Guitarist and vocalist Jakob Harris explained why the song holds a special place in the record’s tracklist.
“‘Vermin’ is the opener for our album Anomaly, for good reason. It encapsulates everything the album represents in a flurry of riffs, rap bars, melancholic melodies and screams. It’s a personal favorite on the album for me.”
The new video arrives alongside confirmation of Gradience’s first run of UK shows, scheduled for March. The six-date trek will see the band visit venues across England, Scotland and Wales, with Survivalist joining them for the tour.
Harris described the upcoming dates as a major milestone for the band, pointing to the influence British heavy music has had on Gradience’s sound.
“Playing the UK is a real bucket-list moment for us. We’ve drawn so much inspiration from UK bands over the years, and many of those influences found their way into the writing and sound of Anomaly. To finally bring the album to the UK and play these songs for the audience that comes from such a huge part of our musical inspiration is incredibly exciting. And we’re stoked to be doing it alongside our friends in Survivalist!”
The UK run will kick off in Huddersfield on March 2 before continuing through Edinburgh, Newcastle, Kingston and Bournemouth, wrapping up in Cardiff on March 7.
Gradience also have several European dates on the calendar, including an appearance at Aalborg Metal Festival in Denmark in November and a December run with Cabal.
