Manchester crossover outfit Guilt Trip have teamed up with Adidas for a limited-edition collaboration centered around the iconic Superstar II sneaker.
The special release will arrive on June 06th, one day after the band release their new album **Armour Of Angels via Roadrunner Records.
Speaking with Hypebeast about the collaboration, drummer Tom Aimson reflected on the significance of the brand within UK culture and the band’s upbringing.
“Adidas is ingrained in our culture. Being from the north of England, you see the brand in music, football and beyond because it’s what people relate to the most around here. We’re honored to be working with them on a shoe, especially the Superstar II.”
Aimson also discussed the influence the footwear had on the band growing up, particularly through late ’90s and early 2000s heavy music culture.
“Superstars were everywhere when we were kids. Seeing Korn, Slipknot and all the other metal bands wearing them in the late ’90s-early ’00s was a massive influence as well as the general Manchester style.”
The collaboration continues the growing crossover between heavy music and streetwear culture, while also serving as another major moment for Guilt Trip ahead of the release of Armour Of Angels.
