GWAR are joining forces with horror movie icon Joe Bob Briggs and John Brennan And The Bigfeet, the house band for The Last Drive-In, for a collaborative album titled ‘GWAR And The Last Drive-In-Stein’. The record is scheduled to arrive November 13 through GWAR’s own Pit Records, bringing together the worlds of shock metal, drive-in horror, and exploitation cinema.
The announcement arrives alongside the release of “Splatter-Fu,” a new song written specifically for GWAR by John Brennan, along with its accompanying video. The track offers the first taste of the unusual collaboration, which celebrates more than four decades of GWAR’s intergalactic mayhem and 40 years of Briggs’ career as a television film critic, commentator, and entertainer.
Blothar offered his own characteristically outrageous take on the partnership, saying:
“Lordy Lordy, look who’s 40! GWAR and Joe Bob Briggs. A match made in hell! I love horror movies, trash, and funny spooky stuff. GWAR wouldn’t exist without it. I was just a calf when creepy Joe Bob reached up my poodle skirt at the last Drive-in. He promised he’d make me a star… Now we’ve made a record together!”
Briggs was equally enthusiastic about bringing the two worlds together, explaining:
“To create the real spirit of Halloween, I called up my buddies – the intergalactic warriors who live in Antarctica – and I asked them to bring some fear, some filth, and some fun. Of course you know whom I’m talkin’ about… the Scumdogs of the Universe… GWAR!”
‘GWAR And The Last Drive-In-Stein’ is split into two distinct sides. Side A captures GWAR’s live performance from The Last Drive-In’s 2025 Halloween special, featuring several of the band’s original songs alongside covers associated with Briggs’ long-running horror program. Side B shifts the spotlight to John Brennan And The Bigfeet, featuring music written for the show’s final two seasons. The collection marks the third official soundtrack release from Brennan and his band connected to The Last Drive-In.
The album’s track listing is as follows:
SIDE A — GWAR
- “Joe Bob Is Back In Town”
- “Fuck This Place”
- “Splatter-Fu”
- “Lot Lizard”
- “Gor-Gor”
- “Drive-In Oath”
SIDE B — John Brennan And The Bigfeet

For GWAR, the release adds another chapter to a legacy spanning more than 40 years of outrageous performances, theatrical violence, and intergalactic destruction. For Briggs, it celebrates four decades of television history devoted to drive-in movies, horror, exploitation cinema, and the strange cultural universe surrounding them.
