Harm’s Way have returned to the stage for the first time since the death of their guitarist Bo Lueders earlier this year.
The Chicago industrial metalcore outfit played an intimate warm-up show at Casa Cafe in Chicago, IL on Friday, August 28th, marking their first live appearance since Lueders passed away in April.
The group also made some changes to its live lineup for the occasion. Bassist Casey Soyk shifted over to guitar to perform alongside Nick Gauthier, while Drew Brown of Weekend Nachos and other projects stepped in on bass. Vocalist James Pligge and drummer Chris Mills remained in their respective positions.
Fan-filmed footage from the warm-up performance has since surfaced online.
The band followed that appearance with an official tribute to Lueders on Saturday at Chicago’s Ramova Theater, bringing a number of guest musicians into the fold for a special set honoring their late guitarist.

Among those who joined Harm’s Way for the tribute were Taylor Young and Colin Young of Twitching Tongues, Anthony DiDio of Vein.fm and Fleshwater, former Harm’s Way guitarist Jay Jancetic, and former Nails guitarist Andrew Saba.
The two performances mark Harm’s Way‘s first return to the stage since Lueders‘ death, with the tribute show providing an opportunity for the band and its extended community to celebrate his life and contributions.
