HEALTH Drop New Remix EP ‘R-TYPE II’ Reworking Tracks From ‘CONFLICT DLC’

Californian industrial rock outfit HEALTH have released a new remix EP titled R-TYPE II, continuing their series of reimagined material drawn from their latest album CONFLICT DLC and related releases.

The EP follows last month’s arrival of R-TYPE I and expands on the band’s ongoing fusion of heavy electronic textures, industrial noise, and video game-inspired aesthetics. The title itself nods to the long-running R-Type video game franchise, first introduced in 1987 — another example of the gaming references frequently woven into HEALTH’s creative universe.

Bassist and programmer John Famiglietti explained the conceptual framing behind the release using a gaming analogy tied to the band’s recent output:

“If RAT WARS is ELDEN RING and CONFLICT DLC is SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE, then R-TYPE has to be NIGHTREIGN. Enjoy these remixes and alternate versions by the best in the business: from the dance floor to the killing floor, these interesante interpretations will thrill and excite you and your family in the year of the FIRE HORSE!”

R-TYPE II features a lineup of remixers putting their own spin on HEALTH’s material, blending industrial, electronic, and darkwave influences across six tracks.
