Funk metal outfit Infectious Grooves will return to the stage this fall for a special show commemorating the 35th anniversary of their debut album, ‘The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move… It’s The Infectious Grooves.’
The performance is scheduled for November 28th at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, where the group will play the 1991 release in its entirety alongside additional material.
The lineup for the occasion will feature Suicidal Tendencies mainstays Mike Muir and Dean Pleasants, as well as Robert Trujillo, who has since gone on to become a longtime member of Metallica after also performing with Ozzy Osbourne. Guitarist Dave Kushner (ex-Velvet Revolver, etc.) will also return, with Avenged Sevenfold drummer Brooks Wackerman once again handling percussion. Jay Weinberg (ex-Slipknot, etc.) had previously filled that role for the group in recent years.
Infectious Grooves shared the following announcement about the upcoming celebration:
“It’s a Fonda Theater deja vu! November 28th at the Fonda Theatre. Infectious Grooves playing their entire first album to celebrate its 35th Anniversary.
“Thanks for all the people that came out to get Cyco October 1st with ST to help get the Fonda Theater 100th Anniversary off to a slamming STart.
“Now Infectious Grooves is coming back to Funk it Up with another special anniversary show.
“35 Years ago, the first IG album, ‘The Plague that makes your booty move…it’s the Infectious Grooves’ kicked up the hyper green funk.
“November 28th, Mike Muir, Robert Trujillo, Dean Pleasants, Brooks Wackerman and Dave Kushner are gonna play the entire first album, along with of course some other high octane jams!
“And definitely expect a surprise or two, as I.G. is gonna take the festivities to new heights, cause you know ‘These Freaks are here to Party’ and we hope you come along and party with us too!
