Actor and 30 SECONDS TO MARS Frontman Jared Leto Accused by Nine Women in New Report, Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Jared Leto, the Oscar-winning actor and frontman of the platinum-certified rock band 30 Seconds To Mars, is facing a new wave of serious allegations following the publication of a lengthy exposé by Air Mail on Friday (June 7th, 2025). The report outlines accusations from nine women spanning the past two decades, including claims of sexual assault, grooming, and sexual misconduct—several of which involve alleged victims who say they were underage at the time.

Among the accusers is DJ Allie Teilz, who recently resurfaced a 2012 Facebook post via her Instagram Stories:

“You’re not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt… And a snow hat. I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17.”

In a follow-up post, she added:

“He knew my age and didn’t care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.”

The Air Mail piece includes additional claims from women who allege that Leto knowingly pursued them while they were still teenagers. One woman recalled meeting Leto at 16 years old in 2006 and said he began calling her in the middle of the night and making sexually explicit remarks. Another woman claimed she was 16 when Leto began engaging in sexual conversations with her, eventually inviting her to visit his studio.

Laura La Rue, a former model, also said she was 16 when Leto initiated contact with her. She alleged that their communication took on a troubling tone, but Leto‘s representatives told Air Mail that “their communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate“ and even claimed La Rue later applied to be Leto’s personal assistant—something she denies.

A fourth woman, who said her texting relationship with Leto began when she was still underage, claimed that his advances escalated once she turned 18. She alleged that during a visit to Leto’s home, he began masturbating in front of her without consent.

“All of the allegations are expressly denied,” Leto’s representative said in response to Air Mail. The spokesperson further emphasized that Leto has not used drugs or alcohol in over 35 years, in reference to accusations suggesting he may have been under the influence during some interactions.

In the exposé, one source alleged that “it’s been an open secret for a long time” that Leto is known for texting underage or barely legal models. Social media commentary has also previously pointed fingers. In 2018, actor Dylan Sprouse tweeted:

“Yo @JaredLeto now that you’ve slid into the DMs of every female model aged 18–25, what would you say your success rate is?“

Director James Gunn replied to the tweet with a jab of his own:

“He starts at 18 on the internet?”

Leto rose to fame in the 1990s for his role as Jordan Catalano on My So-Called Life before earning acclaim for performances in films like Requiem for a Dream (2000) and Dallas Buyers Club (2013). He has also become notorious for his extreme method acting—particularly during his turn as The Joker in Suicide Squad (2016). In a now-walked-back claim, he once said he sent “used condoms” and “anal beads” to his co-stars on set, later calling those remarks “a joke” and dismissing the story as “99.9 percent bullsh*t“.

Despite his musical success with hits like “The Kill (Bury Me)” and “Kings and Queens”, these disturbing allegations now cast a long shadow over his career in both music and film.
