Original Arch Enemy frontman Johan Liiva has publicly reacted to the band’s recent split with longtime vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, offering a brief but telling comment after fans speculated about the possibility of his return.
The band announced White-Gluz’s departure over the weekend, without clarifying the circumstances behind the change. White-Gluz then issued her own statement shortly after, though neither side provided additional details surrounding the decision.
Following the news, a fan responded to one of Liiva’s older Facebook posts — a share of the Arch Enemy track “Dream Stealer,” featuring White-Gluz — asking whether Liiva planned to rejoin the band. He quickly shut down the speculation, while also stressing his surprise.
Liiva wrote:
“No, I am not. I am just as surprised as all of you. I think Alissa was perfect for AE. The mystery goes on.”
A screenshot of the exchange has been circulating among fans as discussions continue regarding the band’s next steps.

Agree with him, I also think the match AE with Alissa was awesome.
