King 810 have unveiled a new music video for “I Know You Heard Of Me,” offering the latest preview of the Flint, Michigan alternative metal band’s forthcoming album ‘La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God’.
The new record is scheduled for release on November 27 and is being positioned as a spiritual successor to the band’s 2016 sophomore album ‘La Petite Mort Or A Conversation With God’.
According to vocalist David Gunn, “I Know You Heard Of Me” serves as the introduction to the new album and explores themes surrounding humanity’s attempts to make sense of an unsettling reality.
“‘I KNOW YOU HEARD OF ME’ is the introduction to the record. I needed to introduce myself so that everyone could remember they have, in fact, known me all along. This one’s about the idea that we’re not the first to notice something’s off about reality — that people have been trying to warn each other for thousands of years, and getting burned for it. Figuratively and literally. ‘I KNOW YOU HEARD OF ME’ is a transmission I got a long time ago — a channeling whose origin I can’t even be sure of myself.”
The accompanying video was directed by Myles Carter and takes a lo-fi, retro video game-inspired approach to the track’s visual presentation.
King 810 will finish out their current run of live dates this weekend with Guerrilla Warfare, before returning to Michigan later this month for a special performance centered around ‘La Petite Mort Or A Conversation With God’.
The October 30 show at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac will mark the band’s first-ever full-album performance of the record.
