Josh Scogin, the enigmatic frontman behind ’68 and formerly of The Chariot, has officially ventured into the world of literature. Scogin revealed today, December 29th, that he has authored a new children’s book titled There Once Was A Girl Who Lived For One Day.
Described as a “thoughtful journey,” the book marks a distinct creative departure for the artist, though Scogin notes the themes are intended for readers of all ages.
’68 Frontman Launches “Soft Launch” of Debut Book
Taking to social media to announce the project, Scogin characterized the current availability as a “soft launch.” In typical DIY fashion, he explained that this initial run is extremely limited and intentionally raw, appealing to longtime collectors and fans of his lyrical style.
The book is being released through Velvet Press, with the first batch of orders expected to ship in January 2026.
“I wanted to do a very limited number of the first batch, because it might very well still have misspelled words or punctuation errors or whatever. So if you’re a collector or if you enjoy pointing out misspelled words or if you have enjoyed my words in the past….then click the link and grab you one.”
