Flint, MI nü-metal outfit King 810 have continued their prolific output with the release of a new single, “Goofer Dust”. The track serves as the first preview of the band’s forthcoming studio album, ‘Rustbelt Nu Metal 3’, which is scheduled to arrive on March 20 via the group’s official website.
The release marks the third installment in the band’s Rustbelt Nu Metal trilogy, with each entry recorded live in front of a studio audience. For this latest session, 45 attendees were present during recording last November. Staying true to a stripped-down, traditional approach, the band opted to avoid modern studio techniques such as click tracks, samples, overdubs, or punch-ins.
Musically, “Goofer Dust” sees King 810 leaning into classic Southern rhythm & blues influences, pairing blues-soaked instrumentation with hoodoo-inspired lyrical themes.
Speaking alongside the release of the track on January 31, the band shared the following statement:
“Ladies and gentlemen, we return to our regular scheduled programming.
The band called KING has just dropped the first single from their upcoming album K8. GOOFER DUST.
This will be their third album in 12 months. This album was also recorded in front of a live studio audience without click tracks, programming, overdubbing, punching in etc etc.
We thank everyone involved, especially those who attended and made this possible.
Let’s spin this one today then.”
