A concertgoer suffered a severe spinal cord injury during Knocked Loose‘s performance at this past weekend’s ‘Louder Than Life’ festival in Louisville, KY, after another attendee reportedly fell from a tree and landed on her.
The woman, identified as Jamie Ulshoffer, was attending the Kentucky metalcore band’s set with her significant other. According to a report from WHAS11, the couple were seated toward the back corner of the tented stage, near an area where four trees were located.
Ulshoffer said she has no recollection of the moment she was struck. She reportedly regained consciousness in a hospital and has since been unable to move or feel her legs after sustaining an injury that severed her spinal cord.
Speaking about the aftermath of the incident, Ulshoffer told WHAS11:
“I can’t feel my feet. Can’t do anything that I used to.”
The individual who fell had reportedly climbed into one of the nearby trees before falling onto Ulshoffer. She later addressed the person involved, criticizing the decision to climb the tree while also saying that she has chosen to forgive him.
“He shouldn’t have been up there. Definitely after it just rained, too. Stupid decision. You did this, but I’ll forgive.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist Ulshoffer with her medical expenses and the costs associated with her recovery following the incident.
