Kulk Sign With Church Road Records, Stream New Track “Ache”

British doom metal outfit Kulk have officially signed with Church Road Records and are marking the announcement with the release of a new single titled “Ache.”

The band are currently writing material for a forthcoming album, with “Ache” serving as the first new music to emerge from those sessions. The track is now available to stream, offering a deeply personal glimpse into the emotional direction of the band’s next era.

As the group explained, the song stands as both a tribute and a reflection on grief following the loss of a close friend:

“‘Ache‘, is not only for our friend Meg who we lost in 2023, it’s for all of us left behind. This track was the first we had written after she died and has opened our shows for a while now. ‘Ache‘ describes living with grief after years. It’s not the immense pain of the first few days, but it’s ever present and consistent. Like a broken bone that hasn’t healed right, it has changed the way we move, act and think; always there never letting up. It was also an honour to have Hannah Asprey, of the band IAN, perform a devastatingly beautiful cello feature.”

While further details regarding the upcoming album have yet to be revealed, the signing signals a new chapter for Kulk as they continue developing their atmospheric and emotionally heavy sound.
