Lamb Of God Announce New Album ‘Into Oblivion’, Release Title Track Music Video

Lamb Of God have officially revealed the details of their twelfth studio album, Into Oblivion, confirming a March 13 release via Epic Records. Alongside the announcement, the Richmond, Virginia groove metal veterans have unveiled a music video for the album’s title track, co-directed by Tom Flynn and Mike Watts.

The upcoming record spans 10 tracks and once again sees the band collaborating with longtime producer Josh Wilbur (All That Remains, Gojira), who handled both production and mixing duties. Guitarist Mark Morton described the creative mindset behind the album as a return to fundamentals.

“For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to keep up with any trend or expectation,” Morton explained. “It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let’s just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.”

Vocalist Randy Blythe noted that the album’s title reflects a darker, more sobering perspective on the present state of society.

“Because that’s where we’re heading,” Blythe said. “In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago.”
