Rings of Saturn seem to be involved in more drama and controversy, but this time it doesn’t have anything to do with accusations that Lucas Mann records at half-speed. The band We Are The End have accused Rings Of Saturn guitarist, Lucas Mann of ripping off several song ideas originally composed by them and using them in Rings Of Saturn’s latest single “The Husk”
It has been revealed that Rings Of Saturn’s guitarist Lucas Mann and their former guitarist Miles Dimitri Baker were previously working on writing music with We Are The End back in 2014 and during that time, We Are The End guitarist Brandyn Love alleges he sent Mann several riffs for song ideas via Guitar Pro tabs. While the ideas allegedly composed by We Are The End was never officially released and only pre-production demos of parts of those songs exist, they have been released for comparison. After hearing “The Husk” We Are The End voiced their concerns late last week via social media.
“Everyone please be sure to congratulate Lucas Mann on his new song “THE HUSK” that he stole from us & put on the new Rings of Saturn album. Lucas you’re a bitch!!! But it brings us joy to be such an influence. The song you stole is light years ahead of what we taught you back in 2014 when you & Miles Dimitri Baker were apart of our project. We’re not even mad just disappointed that a musician of your caliber would be so desperate & ruin our gold with your turd video game noise.”
The band has continued to slam Lucas for his alleged actions and Mann has not appeared to have made a comment as of yet. It can be noted that back in 2018 guitarist Miles Dimitri Baker and drummer Aaron Stechauner exited Rings of Saturn when Baker alleged that Mann was unfairly claiming songwriting credits.
A YouTuber by the name of black metal has produced a video with the timeline of these accusations and provides a comparison of the riffs allegedly stolen by Mann. “The Husk” will be featured on the upcoming Rings Of Saturn album “Gidim” which is out on October 25th via Nuclear Blast.
