Baltimore deathgrind veterans Misery Index have returned with their first new song in four years, unveiling the lyric video for “Feral Future.”
The track arrives as the band prepares for their upcoming European and UK summer tour dates and follows their recent return to the Season Of Mist roster earlier this year.
According to bassist/vocalist Jason Netherton, the new single explores humanity’s relationship with the natural world and the need to reconnect with the environment around us.
Netherton stated:
“‘Feral Future’ is about changing the way we think about our relationship with nature. Nature isn’t something we rule over or exist outside of. It’s something we are immersed in everywhere all the time. This song champions the rewilding of damaged and corrupted human spaces and reclaims a more feral connection that respects the sublime wonder of nature.”
“Feral Future” was among the first songs written for the band’s upcoming eighth studio album, although further details regarding that record remain under wraps for now.
Following the release of their latest single, Misery Index will hit the road overseas for a series of European and UK appearances, including stops at Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze Festival.
