Misery Index are officially underway with work on their eighth studio album, with the deathgrind veterans targeting a 2027 release through Season of Mist.
The band recently provided an update from the studio, revealing that multiple members are currently working on different parts of the forthcoming record. Vocalist Jason Netherton has been tracking vocals at Soundwell Studio, while guitarist Mark Klöppel and bassist Darin Morris are continuing to develop guitar and lead parts from their respective home studios.
Drummer Adam Jarvis had already completed his work on the album, with the band revealing that at least 12 songs have been written for consideration.

The upcoming album will follow Misery Index’s 2022 studio effort ‘Complete Control’ and will mark their eighth full-length overall.
The band offered an early preview of the new material this past summer with “Feral Future,” a track recorded during the sessions for the forthcoming album. The song marked their first new material in four years and gave fans an initial glimpse at what the next chapter of Misery Index will sound like.
With the vocal, guitar and lead sessions now moving forward, more details on the band’s eighth album are expected to emerge ahead of its planned 2027 release.
