Fans of metalcore and hardcore nostalgia can rejoice, as Misery Signals’ performance from Hellfest 2004 has officially surfaced online through [hate5six]. The footage captures the band live at The Rexplex in Elizabeth, NJ on July 25th, 2004 — a performance long awaited by collectors and hardcore enthusiasts.
Sandeep “Sunny” Singh, the curator behind [hate5six], has returned to digitizing archival footage from that infamous 2004 Hellfest weekend. While Singh previously uploaded sets sporadically, this marks the first Hellfest 2004 release in seven years.
Regarding the ongoing project, Singh explained:
“Hellfest 2004 editing is underway (again). A few notes:
- Soundboard recordings were destroyed long before I acquired everything. I’m working with what I got, which is audio you’d expect from mid-2000s MiniDV cameras.
- I will only be releasing sets from bands who have given me permission to do so. I’m focusing on editing and need your help getting a hold of band members.
If your band played HF04 and want your set released OR if you can put me in direct contact with someone in the band, please message me on Patreon or through a mutual. I don’t check social media comments or DMs. You’ll figure it out.”
