Swedish doom metal trio Monolord have officially unveiled details surrounding their long-awaited sixth studio album, Neverending, marking their first full-length release in roughly five years. The record is scheduled to arrive May 29th via Relapse Records.
The band tracked the album in fall 2025 alongside acclaimed producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System Of A Down), wrapping recording sessions in November. According to vocalist and guitarist Thomas Jäger, the creative process took an expansive approach, with Massy encouraging the band to revisit their entire archive of ideas — not just newly written material.
“She asked me to send her everything we had—not just songs written for the album, but every stray riff and idea. I even sent her stuff I’d written ten years ago. She listened to all of it and sent us a list of what she wanted to work on.”
Those sessions generated twelve potential tracks, though only eleven were recorded, with eight ultimately making the final album cut. Jäger noted that the new material pushes beyond the group’s traditional doom foundations.
“This isn’t really what people would call a doom album. It feels like a mix of that and something new.”
Leading the album rollout is the single “You Bastard,” now streaming alongside a newly released music video directed by James Rexroad.

In support of the album, Monolord will embark on extensive touring across North America and Europe throughout 2026, including runs with Mizmor and Khemmis, alongside festival appearances and headline dates.
