Moodring have unveiled a new teaser video offering a glimpse at all the tracks set to appear on their upcoming album “Death Fetish”, scheduled for release on March 27th via SharpTone Records.
Frontman Hunter Young opened up about the personal struggles behind the album, revealing the physical and neurological health challenges that have left him largely housebound and mostly bed-bound.
“If you’ve been following the singles from a musical, lyrical, and visual standpoint you’ll know…this is more than just music to me,” Young said.
“When I got sick, I was told my chances of full recovery were about 5% and was explicitly told the more I forced myself past my new limits, the further my quality of life would continue to decline. I didn’t listen…Currently, I am housebound while still doing my best to find peace and release whatever I can into the world. ‘Death Fetish’ is a bleak album hiding behind veiled electronics, heavy guitars, and pop hooks. This record is a eulogy to the person I used to be…Through it all, I remain grateful for the people still around and the ones who listen a little closer to hear me loud and clear.”
The band had previously canceled touring in 2023 after Young was diagnosed with “several debilitating neurological and physical illnesses.”
The teaser gives fans a first look at what promises to be a dark, immersive exploration of identity, loss, and perseverance, continuing Moodring’s signature blend of alternative metal textures and heavy electronic influences.
