Mötley Crüe are set to receive some high-profile assistance during their upcoming appearance on American Idol, as former winner and country superstar Carrie Underwood has officially been announced as part of the performance.
The collaboration is scheduled for the season finale of the current 24th season of the long-running singing competition series, airing Monday, May 11th.
The announcement generated significant buzz online following initial news that Mötley Crüe would appear on the program, particularly due to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding frontman Vince Neil’s live vocal performances in recent years.
However, Underwood brings considerable rock credibility of her own to the stage. While primarily known as a diamond-certified country artist, she has frequently showcased her appreciation for hard rock and metal throughout her career.
Over the years, Carrie Underwood has collaborated with Guns N’ Roses, teamed with Papa Roach, performed material associated with Ozzy Osbourne, and even participated in renditions of songs by Korn and Drowning Pool during a previous season of American Idol.
The finale episode is also expected to feature performances from Shinedown, Nelly, En Vogue, and additional guest artists.
