Scottish slam death metal outfit Party Cannon have been forced to withdraw from this Saturday’s Deathtober Fest in Liège, Belgium, after a member of their planned live lineup suffered a ruptured pilonidal cyst.
Never ones to shy away from blunt humor, the band described the medical issue as an “ass infection” in a social media statement explaining the cancellation. Party Cannon also noted that they had already planned to perform with a fill-in drummer, but felt they couldn’t deliver the show fans deserved after losing another member of the lineup.
“We will unfortunately not be performing at Deathtober Fest in Liege, Belgium this Saturday due to medical issues.”
The group apologized to fans and thanked the festival for booking them, as well as Sean Watkins for learning their set. They also confirmed that their upcoming U.S. tour with Nekrogoblikon, Aborted and Signs Of The Swarm remains unaffected, with the band expecting to hit the road with its full lineup.
Party Cannon are next scheduled to return to Belgium on March 25 alongside Internal Bleeding and Guttural Slug.
The band closed its announcement with a characteristically irreverent sign-off: “Take care of your arses.”
