Scottish death/slam chaos merchants Party Cannon have locked in a March 27 release date for their new EP, Subjected To A Partying — and in true Party Slam fashion, they’re issuing it in one of the most absurd formats imaginable: a limited-edition Nintendo 64 cartridge.
Yes, the 1996-era console.
Alongside standard digital and physical formats, the EP will be available on an actual N64 game cartridge, custom-designed and ported by the band’s own Vominic Stonebones. The release also marks the first recorded output featuring new vocalist Daryl “The Frogman” Boyce.
Bassist Clankenstein explained the band’s thinking behind the stunt:
“We are going where no slamming death metal band has gone before — Nintendo 64.
To celebrate Daryl ‘The Frogman’ Boyce’s first release as our new vocalist, we decided to make it something truly special, and there’s nothing more special than a console whose lifespan ended in 2001.”
According to the band, Subjected To A Partying represents a streamlined approach to their sound, breaking the EP down into four stylistic pillars: slam, goregrind, early 2000s brutal death metal, and NYDM. Each track focuses on one of those elements while still retaining Party Cannon’s trademark stupidity.
The EP also features remix contributions from Kmac2021, Frontierer, and Ritual Studio, because apparently things weren’t chaotic enough already.
As an added bonus, the band have released a live video of “Human Slime”, filmed at Obscene Extreme 2025, now streaming via the Unique Leader YouTube channel. Clankenstein offered one final warning:
“I do not believe you will find a more debauched or IQ-damaging live video anytime soon. You may wish to wear goggles while watching it.”
