PIERCE THE VEIL’s ‘Selfish Machines’ Lands Gold Certification in the United States

Pierce The Veil continue to rack up industry accolades in 2025, with their 2010 sophomore album Selfish Machines officially certified gold in the United States. This marks the fourth RIAA certification awarded to the emo/post-hardcore outfit this year alone.

Earlier in 2025, “Bulls In The Bronx” was certified platinum on January 17th, while “Circles”, “Hell Above”, and “Hold On Till May” (feat. Lindsey Stamey) all reached gold status.

The band’s current RIAA-certified tally includes:

• 5 platinum singles, including “King For A Day” (2× multi-platinum)
• 3 gold singles
• 2 gold albums — now including Selfish Machines

In the U.S., a gold certification represents 500,000 units, while platinum denotes 1,000,000 units. These totals include physical/digital sales, as well as digital streaming equivalents (10 permanent track downloads = 1 unit; 1500 audio/video streams = 1 unit).
