Poppy has joined forces with experimental post-rock collective Son Lux for a new collaborative track titled “In Death We’ve Just Begun,” created for the upcoming video game ‘Marathon’.
The song appears on the soundtrack for the long-awaited revival of the classic sci-fi shooter franchise, which is scheduled to launch this Thursday, March 05th. Son Lux member Ryan Lott also contributed additional compositions to the game’s overall score.
Developed by Bungie — the studio behind Halo and Destiny — ‘Marathon’ reimagines the franchise that originally debuted in the mid-1990s, bringing the series into the modern era as a first-person extraction shooter.
Accompanying the release is an official music video directed by filmmaker Harmony Korine (Gummo, Kids) alongside Sam Goldwater, pairing the track’s atmospheric tension with striking visuals tied to the game’s futuristic world.
