Tom Morello Recruits Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Serj Tankian & More For ‘Power To The People’ Festival

Tom Morello is set to launch a new activist-driven festival this fall, bringing together a massive lineup of rock, punk, and alternative heavyweights for a one-day event in Maryland.

Dubbed ‘Power To The People’, the festival will take place October 3rd at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, and is being positioned as a non-partisan celebration centered around music, activism, and community engagement.

According to organizers, the event will feature performances across two stages alongside a “Freedom Village” area showcasing nonprofit organizations and advocacy groups.

Morello described the event as a unifying cultural gathering built around shared ideals:

“The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll. It’s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action. We’re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the DC area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.”

While framed as non-partisan, the lineup includes several artists who have been openly critical of current U.S. political leadership, including Bruce Springsteen, who is listed as a special guest.

The stacked lineup features appearances from Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Tom Morello, Serj Tankian (System Of A Down), Joan Baez, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Brittany Howard, The Linda Lindas, Taylor Momsen (The Pretty Reckless) and more.

A special collaborative unit featuring Jack Black alongside Tom Morello’s son Roman Morello, Revel Ian (Anthrax), Yoyoka Soma, and Hugo Weiss will also perform, continuing their recent run of crossover performances following last year’s Back To The Beginning tribute appearance.

Additional special guests are expected to be announced in the lead-up to the event.
