Ex-Heavy Heavy Low Low Singer Robbie Smith Denies Danny Rankin’s Theft Allegations

Heavy Heavy Low Low vocalist Robbie Smith has responded to recent accusations from his ex-bandmate, guitarist and vocalist Danny Rankin, regarding the band’s activities and merch sales. Rankin had recently taken to social media claiming Smith used the band’s platforms to sell shirts and fund a personal move to Florida.

Rankin’s posts alleged:

“Rob (Singer) locked us out of the IG and used it to sell out merch on a personal Shopify to make $ to move to Florida.
I mentioned that it sucks to post shirts every day with no intent for shows and he quit the band, blocked me for weeks, and still posted shirt for personal gain.
Mans throwing away the band and a 20 year relationship for a couple hundred dollars…”

In response, Smith clarified on Heavy Heavy Low Low’s official Instagram:

“None of us want to be in a band with Danny. I okayed selling the shirts with the entire band. Even Danny. But after a couple weeks, Danny had deemed it ‘uncool,’ ‘desperate,’ and now ‘thirsty.’ No one else in the band thought this and they never have. They supported me because we are and remain friends.

…Danny claims the band has been locked out of IG. That isn’t true. One only needs to follow Danny‘s personal account for a period of time to realize why we’ve never shared it with him.

…I did a lot for this band. A lot. To be accused of stealing by someone I once called a friend is heartbreaking… I have never stolen from this band. …So, yeah, we’re done. No future here.”

Rankin also responded to Smith’s statements, reiterating his frustration with the situation:

“SORRY ABOUT ALL THE DRAMA. I’VE BEEN TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE BAND FOR LIKE A MONTH ABOUT ROB’S EXCESSIVE PERSONAL SHIRT POST…
…NOW MAKING ME PART OF THIS THIRSTY LOOKING BAND…
WE (ROB) ARE EMBARRASSING AF.”

He later added:

“BOYCOTT OUR BAND AND GET A REFUND ON A SHIRT IF YOU BOUGHT ONE RECENTLY.”

The public dispute highlights tensions between the former bandmates, with Heavy Heavy Low Low fans witnessing a very public clash over the band’s merch, social media use, and internal disagreements.
