Rosetta are preparing to close out their studio career with ‘Temporal Lapse’, a new seven-song album that will serve as the Philadelphia, PA post-metal outfit’s final studio record.
Arriving November 27 via Pelagic Records, the album comes after a six-year process that saw the band navigate an unexpected series of circumstances that ultimately reshaped the trajectory of their career. Along with announcing the record, Rosetta have now debuted the first single, “The Native Hue Of Resolution.”
Thematically, ‘Temporal Lapse’ draws loosely from the five stages of grief — denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. According to the band, the album uses that framework to reflect on both personal and collective loss.
The recording process was handled by Rosetta alongside Matt Weed, with Jeremy S.H. Griffin taking care of the mixing. The band have also released a trailer that looks back at the unusual journey behind ‘Temporal Lapse’, including the circumstances that extended its creation over six years and ultimately contributed to the decision to make it their final studio album.
