Thrown Into Exile have brought in a major guest for their latest release, enlisting Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott to contribute a guest solo to their newly released single, “Remorse.”
The Swedish-influenced metalcore outfit have also unveiled an accompanying music video for the collaboration, which was co-directed by Mario Rubio and Robyn Racicot.
According to Thrown Into Exile, “Remorse” explores the emotional toll of investing yourself in something that ultimately leaves you right back where you started, along with the lingering weight of past decisions.
Thrown Into Exile explained:
“‘Remorse’ is a personal song that deals with how much of yourself you are willing to give to something that only results in being where you started and the emotional weight that comes with that, past mistakes, things that could have been handled better and carrying that with you.”
Amott was brought into the track through Rubio, who also plays guitar in Thrown Into Exile. The Arch Enemy musician said he had been keeping an eye on the band’s progress and welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with his current tour mates.
Amott commented:
“I’ve been watching Thrown Into Exile steadily grow over the last couple of years, so when Mario brought the opportunity to lay down a guest solo on one of their tracks, it was a no-brainer to team up with my current tour mates. Give it a listen!”
Rubio also expressed his appreciation for having Amott contribute to the song, praising the guitarist’s melodic approach and the opportunity to trade leads with him.
Rubio added:
“What more can I say that hasn’t been said? He is the master of melodies, and having his feel and legendary phrasing on this song is nothing short of an honor. What an experience to trade a lead with him!”
