Grindcore outfit See You Next Tuesday have officially withdrawn from Oceano’s farewell tour, citing the ongoing admat controversy surrounding the deathcore band.
The situation unfolded after Oceano’s tour announcement on February 19th, when an artist alleged that the band had altered and used his design without proper credit or initial payment. However, screenshots later surfaced showing Zelle payments and conversations indicating further business discussions. In a later Facebook comment, the artist admitted that his disappointment stemmed more from missing out on “exposure” than financial compensation—despite initially framing his complaint as if he had not been paid for his work or credited for artistic direction.
Oceano frontman Adam Warren responded, disputing elements of the claim, but the backlash ultimately led to the band wiping their social media accounts.
Amid the controversy, See You Next Tuesday took to social media tonight (02/23) to issue a statement on their decision to step away from the tour.
“Half of See You Next Tuesday‘s members are visual artists and rely on art as their sole income. Given the current tour poster situation, it has presented a huge dilemma for us, challenging our morality and standards as artists. We stand against things like AI stealing art from hardworking artists for the profit of the less creative, with zero recognition to the original artists. This may seem like a minor problem to people outside of the art world, but it is seriously damaging to the livelihoods of artists who use their art to support themselves and their families. This situation between Oceano and the original artist of the tour poster, Chris Gallien, although a different type of situation, awkwardly aligns itself with the same reasons we despise AI.
In the end, we as a band have decided we are not comfortable with the current situation and will no longer be part of this tour.
We would like to apologize to everyone who worked on making the tour happen for us and anyone who was looking forward to seeing us live. Lastly, we hope a positive resolution can be reached between all other parties involved.”
The fate of Oceano’s planned farewell tour remains unclear following the band’s recent social media purge. However, as of this writing, the official ticketing website and tour dates remain online.
