Brazilian metal legends Sepultura have unveiled “Beyond The Dream,” the second single from their forthcoming farewell EP The Cloud Of Unknowing, due out April 24th. The newly released track showcases a more melodic and reflective side of the band as they approach the closing chapter of their decades-long career.
The song features guest appearances from Sérgio Britto and Tony Bellotto of iconic Brazilian rock outfit Titãs — artists who share deep historical ties with Sepultura. The collaboration also revisits a longstanding musical connection, as Sepultura famously covered Titãs’ song “Polícia” as a bonus track on their landmark 1993 album Chaos A.D.
Speaking about the track, the band described the song as a defining emotional moment tied to their farewell era.
“‘Beyond The Dream’ emerges as one of the most emblematic moments of Sepultura’s final chapter, serving as a poetic reflection of a journey shaped by decades of albums, tours, and life on the road.”
According to the band, the song fulfills a long-held creative ambition to explore a ballad format while maintaining the group’s musical identity.
“This previously unreleased composition fulfills a long-standing desire of the band to explore the ballad format, blending Sepultura’s identity with the melodic sensitivity of renowned collaborators.”
The collaboration with members of Titãs was described as a natural creative partnership rooted in mutual respect and shared musical history.
“The result… celebrates the connection between artists who share the stage and a deep passion for creation… establishing itself as both an emotional and historical milestone featured on the band’s final EP.”
While The Cloud Of Unknowing marks the end of an era for Sepultura, it also introduces drummer Greyson Nekrutman on his first studio recordings with the band. The group’s global farewell tour is expected to conclude later this year in Brazil, with hometown dates still to be announced.
Ahead of that finale, the band will continue their extensive farewell run across North America and Europe.
