Brazilian metal legends Sepultura officially launched the Australian leg of their farewell tour this past Friday (March 20th) in Perth, marking the occasion with the live debut of their newest single, “The Place.”
The band added the track to their setlist for the opening night performance, giving fans their first-ever live experience of the song. Fan-filmed footage from the show has since surfaced online, capturing the historic moment as the group continues its final run of international performances.
With Sepultura now in the closing chapter of their career, the current Australian trek is expected to serve as their last tour across the country. The remaining dates on the run are scheduled as follows:
- 03/23 Adelaide, AUS – The Gov
- 03/25 Melbourne, AUS – Northcote Theatre
- 03/27 Sydney, AUS – Liberty Hall
- 03/29 Brisbane, AUS – The Tivoli
“The Place” appears on the band’s upcoming EP, ‘The Cloud Of Unknowing’, which is set for release on April 24th and will stand as their final studio offering as they bring their decades-spanning legacy to a close.
