Shadows Fall Return With Video For Their First New Song Since 2012 “In The Grey”

Shadows Fall have returned with “In The Grey,” their first new single in over a decade. The track marks a long-awaited comeback for the band, who reunited in 2021 following years of hiatus. Now signed to MNRK Records, the group has been crafting their eighth studio album with longtime producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris (Hatebreed, Rob Zombie) at the helm.

Debuting earlier this week on SiriusXM, “In The Grey” is accompanied by a music video directed by Chris Klumpp (Like Moths To Flames, August Burns Red), which is now streaming online.

Frontman Brian Fair shared:

“We are incredibly excited to share our first new music in over a decade with ‘In The Grey’ and are proud to announce our partnership with MNRK Music Group.

When Shadows Fall first got back in the practice space to prepare for our reunion shows, we didn’t know if it would lead to new music. But the excitement of jamming together and all of the riffs Jon [Donais] had floating around in his head led us in that direction almost immediately. The idea began flowing, the energy started building, and new songs began taking form out of the chaos.

‘In The Grey’ is a full-throttle thrasher that contains all the elements that are the bedrock of the Shadows Fall sound, but it also adds new approaches that developed while we explored other musical avenues. Lyrically, it delves into the crushing weight of depression, that feeling of being trapped in the dark waters of your mind. But it’s also about striving for a brighter day and escaping the grey.”

In addition to their musical resurgence, Shadows Fall will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark album The War Within with a special show. The event features an incredible lineup, including Unearth (performing The Oncoming Storm), E-Town Concrete, Jasta, Within The Ruins, and Brick By Brick.
