Shane Embury, best known for his work in Napalm Death, Lock Up, and numerous other extreme music projects, has unveiled a new solo track titled “Taurus.” The song arrives with an accompanying video and serves as the latest preview of his forthcoming solo album, Bridge To Resolution.
That record finds Embury exploring his longtime admiration for post-punk and more atmospheric sounds, offering a different creative outlet from the grindcore intensity many fans know him for. The album is currently set for release on June 05.
Discussing the emotional inspiration behind “Taurus,” Embury opened up about the loss of both of his parents and how grief has shaped his recent songwriting.
“The passing of my parents hit me hard as anyone would expect – my fathers passing I believe now channeled a surge in musical creativity within me which seems at times relentless as I still try to deal with the emotional fall out – but my mother passing really knocked me to the ground and opened up a lot of buried feelings and hidden wounds .. I felt like an orphan that life has changed and even now a few years after I struggle .. having a family now I have to dig in daily to feel and to learn and love and grow and be strong for them as they were for me.”
With Bridge To Resolution, Embury appears set to deliver one of his most personal and stylistically distinct releases to date.
