Kansas City post-hardcore veterans Shiner have unveiled another previously physical-only track from the upcoming deluxe edition of their latest album, ‘BELIEVEYOUME’.
The newly released “I’ll Never Need You Again” will appear on the expanded edition when it arrives digitally on September 18. The song, along with “Captured By Death,” was previously available only as part of the physical edition of ‘BELIEVEYOUME’.
According to Shiner, “I’ll Never Need You Again” originated during a studio session in Kansas City that took place without vocalist/guitarist Josh present. The band described the track as a reflection on the complicated emotions surrounding the end of a relationship.
“Written during a session at Paul’s studio in Kansas City on a day Josh couldn’t make it, it pairs a sad chord progression with a little hope. It’s about the end of a relationship: the relief of finally being free, mixed with the feeling that you never want to need anything, or anyone, that much again.”
Rather than simply adding the bonus material to the end of the original album, Shiner have integrated both songs directly into the ‘BELIEVEYOUME’ running order.
