Japanese avant-garde black metal pioneers Sigh have announced their first full United States tour since 2008, marking a long-awaited return to American stages after nearly two decades.
The July run will primarily focus on the western United States and will include an appearance at Fire In The Mountains Festival before transitioning into a string of headlining club dates. Denver, CO progressive metal outfit Dreadnought will provide support throughout the tour.
While the band has made occasional U.S. festival appearances in recent years, this trek represents their first proper stateside tour in 17 years. Frontman Mirai Kawashima expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming run and the current incarnation of the band, which he describes as the strongest lineup in Sigh’s 36-year history.
“I am really excited that Sigh are finally touring the US again. We played at some US festivals, but the last ‘tour’ was in 2008, so this is going to be the first US tour in nearly 2 decades! I am 100% sure that now we have the strongest line-up ever during our 36-year career. Definitely you have never seen a stage like ours before. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the Asian horror theater.”
The tour will bring the band’s theatrical and genre-defying live show back to U.S. audiences for the first time in a generation, blending black metal with progressive, symphonic, and experimental elements that have defined their legacy since the early ’90s.
