Six Feet Under frontman Chris Barnes has shared an update on the band’s upcoming 15th studio album, revealing that mixing is officially underway. The veteran death metal outfit has tapped Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, DevilDriver) to handle the mix, with the record currently slated for a 2026 release.
Barnes said the sessions have been going extremely well, offering his signature blunt assessment of what fans can expect from the material:
“The new Six Feet Under album recording is coming along GREAT! Mark Lewis has begun mixing. Super happy with everything we wrote and recorded. Really killer songs on this one. Pure 100% REAL Death Metal. No fillers, no over processing, no modern tricks or bullshit. Just Death Metal.”
He added that more details—singles, a release date, and tour plans—will be shared at the start of 2026.
