Soilwork have released a new single, “Night Whispers & Shining Lights,” marking the conclusion of a retrospective series celebrating the Swedish melodic metal band’s 30th anniversary. The track also serves as a thank-you to fans before the group turns its attention toward the next phase of its career.
In a statement, the band reflected on the milestone, expressing gratitude to the fans who have supported them throughout three decades of releases, collaborations, and live performances.
“We spent the last few months celebrating the 30th year anniversary of Soilwork with you. From going through every album, talking with old friends who joined us in various parts of the journey to playing arena shows with Swedish colleagues – we want to thank all of you, our fans, from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Soilwork is just as much you as it is us, you inspire us to reach for the stars, even after 30 years.
Two years after the release of our last single we want to give you ‘Night Whispers & Shining Lights’ as a thank you at the end of an era we are closing off with this song. It’s time for a new chapter and we can’t wait to share everything we’ve been working on with you, but until then take your headphones, go for a walk and listen to ‘Night Whispers & Shining Lights.’”
Vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid also shared some additional thoughts on the song, describing it as a track that had been developing behind the scenes for a couple of years.
“‘Night Whispers & Shining Lights’ is a hidden gem that’s been brewing in the vaults for a couple of years but celebrates our 30th anniversary and the embarkation of our tour with Amon Amarth and Orbit Culture in a grand way. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! See you on stage soon.”
