Back in April, Spineshank frontman Jonny Santos confirmed the band had wrapped recording on their long-awaited comeback single. Originally expected to drop in May or June, that track has yet to surface as the group’s reunion tour keeps rolling.
In a new interview with Discoveringbands By Michael Nagy, drummer Tommy Decker revealed that the timeline has shifted, with the band now targeting 2026 for their first new material since 2012’s Anger Denial Acceptance.
Decker shared:
“There’s some stuff [in the works]. There’s some stuff. It might be a little while [before it’s released]. We’ve gotta get this guy and this guy on it, so Tommy Junior and Hager, the new additions to the band. So we got a few songs. We’ll see what happens. [It will arrive] probably sometime next year.”
When asked about the new material’s direction, Santos added:
“It’s more Spineshank. We like to have the heaviness. We like to have the melody. Everyone wants the electronics. So it’s just Spineshank 13 years later. It’s always gonna be heavy. It’s always gonna be a nice hook and there’s always gonna be electronics. So it’s who we are.”
The band has been celebrating 25 years of their sophomore album The Height Of Callousness throughout 2025 with extensive touring.
