System Of A Down, Disturbed, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden & More Expand Spotify ‘Billions Club’ With New Entries

A wave of classic rock and metal favorites have officially joined—or re-entered—the Spotify “Billions Club”, as several major tracks have crossed the milestone of 1 billion streams on the platform.

Among the latest additions are System Of A Down, Disturbed, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Three Days Grace, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, each earning new recognition for some of their most enduring hits.

Recent weeks saw multiple landmark songs hit the billion-stream threshold, including Three Days Grace’s “Animal I Have Become,” Foo Fighters’ “The Pretender,” Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dani California,” System Of A Down’s “Lonely Day,” and Disturbed’s cover of “The Sound Of Silence.”

Among them, Disturbed’s take on the Simon & Garfunkel classic remains the most commercially decorated in the U.S., holding 9x multi-platinum status, while Three Days Grace’s “Animal I Have Become” follows closely at 8x platinum. Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dani California” sits at 5x platinum, Foo Fighters’ “The Pretender” is certified 2x platinum, and System Of A Down’s “Lonely Day” is platinum-certified.

Industry observers have also noted that Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” may be due for an updated certification tally from the RIAA, given its newly confirmed streaming milestone.

With the latest additions, Red Hot Chili Peppers continue to lead the pack among rock acts, now boasting seven total entries in the Spotify Billions Club.
