Stray From The Path Sign With SharpTone Records, Debut “Kubrick Stare” Music Video

Stray From The Path have officially joined SharpTone Records, marking the beginning of this new chapter with the release of their latest single, “Kubrick Stare.” This track is the first new material from the rap-metalcore outfit since 2022 and serves as a preview of what’s to come.

Recording sessions for “Kubrick Stare” took place under the guidance of GRAMMY Award-winning producer Will Putney (Knocked Loose, Body Count). The accompanying music video, seen below, was directed by the band’s own bassist, Anthony Altamura.

Guitarist Tim Williams spoke on the song’s creative direction and its unsettling lyrical themes:

“It felt like we were capturing lightning in a bottle. We built the song around those scary chords. Every day, people on the Internet see the craziest things they’ve ever seen in their lives. Sometimes, it’s hard to feel seriously about these atrocities because we see them all day. You’re so numb to it that you’re just staring blankly.

It’s unfortunately become normal, and it’s driving us crazy. Hence, the ‘Kubrick Stare’ reference — which was a tactic Stanley Kubrick used to show a character losing his mind. We’re locked into our phones, and we probably look like Jack looking out of the window in The Shining.”

With Stray From The Path having entered the studio in March of last year to track their upcoming full-length album, fans can expect a new record to drop in the coming months. In the meantime, you can catch them live at the following shows this month:
