The Faceless Confirm New Music Is On The Way, Promise Singles In The Near Future

It looks like fans may finally be getting new music from The Faceless.

The progressive technical death metal band took to social media on June 11 to confirm that work is underway on new material, while also teasing that fans won’t have to wait much longer to hear the results.

In a post shared to their Facebook page, the band revealed that new singles are planned for release in the near future and encouraged fans to follow them on Spotify for updates.

“Hello! We are officially working on new music. I have a simple favor to ask of you. Please go to Spotify and make sure you follow us to get all future notifications. If you can do that for us, we’ll be releasing singles in the near future as well as some other news! This is a small thing that helps us immensely. Thank you in advance!”

The update marks the strongest indication yet that The Faceless are preparing to return after an extended period of inactivity. Earlier this year, guitarist Andrew Virrueta hinted that progress was being made behind the scenes when he revealed that demo sessions for new material were underway.

The band’s next release will be their first new music since 2017, ending a lengthy absence that has seen The Faceless largely disappear from the spotlight.

Over the years, the group’s momentum has been repeatedly challenged by lineup instability, as well as the personal struggles of founding guitarist Michael Keene, who has publicly discussed both addiction issues and a neurological disorder.

While an official lineup for the new material has yet to be announced, vocalist James Dorton is widely expected to return. However, the band has not formally confirmed his involvement at this time.

For now, it appears The Faceless are finally moving forward again, with new singles and additional announcements expected in the months ahead.
