Polyphia Guitarist Tim Henson Releases Debut Solo Track “Original Sin”

Polyphia guitarist Tim Henson has officially launched his debut solo track, “Original Sin,” marking his first standalone musical release outside of the band. The song arrives alongside the announcement of Henson’s new high-end clothing brand, which also shares the Original Sin name.

Henson explained that the track began as a digitally driven composition before finding its identity on a nylon-string guitar:

“‘Original Sin’ started as something digital with synths and keys, but once I translated it to my nylon-string guitar, everything clicked. I wanted to play with contradiction: a waltz that feels like it’s driving forward, something elegant but uncomfortable.”

Conceptually, the guitarist says the song explores themes of choice, freedom, and consequence:

“If you’re forced to do the right thing, it doesn’t mean anything. That idea – freedom, temptation, consequence – is something I’ve been thinking about a lot.”

A music video directed by Caleb Young accompanies the release, visually reinforcing those themes. According to a press statement, the title “Original Sin” is framed less as a moral judgment and more as a metaphor for creative agency, where meaning exists because choice does.

That same philosophy carries over into Henson’s newly announced clothing brand, described as a high-end creative extension of the project, blending elevated design with the meticulous attention to detail that has become synonymous with his work as a guitarist and composer.
