Tom Morello Drops New Solo Track “Pretend You Remember Me” Featuring Leonard Peltier Cameo

Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello has released his powerful new solo track “Pretend You Remember Me.” The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer describes the song as “dedicated to all the families torn apart by state violence and injustice.”

Morello took the reins as director for the accompanying music video, which was filmed at Picaresca Barra De Cafe in Boyle Heights, CA. Throughout 2025, Morello has been actively participating in protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s raids, including organizing benefit concerts for The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights.

A significant moment in the video is a cameo by indigenous rights activist Leonard Peltier, who was granted indefinite house arrest this past January after decades of incarceration on controversial murder charges dating back to 1975. Rage Against The Machine has long championed Peltier’s release.

Fresh off his role as musical director for the recent supergroup tributes to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne during the ‘Back To The Beginning’ event, Morello is gearing up for an extensive Canadian tour, including electric and acoustic/spoken word performances:
